1914年，北洋軍閥政府正式鑄造袁世凱頭像銀幣。此幣為民國三年袁大頭銀元，此幣上端鑄有“中華民國三年”六字，字型清秀，灑脫自然，筆畫剛勁有力。中間為袁世凱戎裝左側面像。背面兩條嘉禾左右互動，下繫結帶，紋飾中鑄“壹圓”字樣，筆畫圓潤飽滿，字型秀美，浮雕感明顯，用手觸之可感受到凹凸有致的紋飾。嘉禾鑄在錢幣之上寓意國家重視農桑、以民生為本；其另一思想取其家和之諧音，寓意”家和萬事興“之意。此幣工藝極其精湛，雕工極其完美，浮雕感極其強烈的品種，鏡面平整光滑，紋飾非常清晰。難得的是雖經過歲月洗禮，品相依舊保留完好，十分具備收藏價值。
