他就是段子手王爾德！！！

1。1881年，王爾德坐船橫跨大洋來到美利堅，進關的時候傲然地對海關官員翻了個白眼說：“我沒有什麼可以申報的，除了我的才華。” （I have nothing to declare except my genius。）

2。他嘲諷一切。 他嘲諷他的敵人，“要原諒你的敵人，沒有什麼事比這更讓他們抓狂的了。” （Always forgive your enemies； nothing annoys them so much。）

3。他也嘲諷他的朋友。“我不想去天堂，我的朋友都不在那裡。” （I don‘t want to go to heaven。 None of my friends are there。）

4。他嘲諷平庸的人，幾乎不給人留任何活路。他說，“努力不過是無事可做的人的避難所。” （Hard work is simply the refuge of people who have nothing to do。）

5。如今段子手們還在玩的梗，他100多年前就用過了。“我年輕時以為金錢是世界上最重要的東西，等到老了才知道，原來真的是這樣。” （When I was young， I used to think that money was the most important thing in life， now that I am old， I know it is。）

6。他也看不起庸俗的大眾。“公眾驚人地寬容。他們可以原諒一切，除了天才。” （The public is wonderfully tolerant。 It forgives everything except genius。）

7。他不相信愛情。他說，“人生就是一件蠢事追著另一件蠢事而來，而愛情則是兩個蠢東西追來追去。” （Life is one fool thing after another whereas love is two fool things after each other。）

8。他也不相信婚姻。離婚的主要原因是什麼？結婚。What is the chief cause of divorce？ Marriage。

9。已婚男人的快樂來自那些他沒有娶的人。

The happiness of a married man depends on the people he has not married。

10。他嘲諷悲觀主義者。“借錢就要向悲觀主義者借，因為他們不會期待你還錢。” （Always borrow money from a pessimist。 He won’t expect it back。）

11。他嘲諷好為人師的人。“對於建議，你所能做的，就是把它轉送給別人，建議從來就不是給自己準備的。” （The only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on。 It is never of any use to oneself。）

12。他說，“只有無聊的人才會把早餐吃出花樣來。” （Only dull people are brilliant at breakfast）。

13。他說，”只有淺薄的人才瞭解自己。” （Only the shallow know themselves。）

14。他還說，“糟糕的畫家總是欣賞彼此的作品。” （Bad artists always admire each other‘s work。）

15。但是他同樣不喜歡優秀的人。“一個優秀的人沒有敵人，但他的朋友也沒有一個喜歡他。” （An excellent man； he has no enemies； and none of his friends like him。）

16。他嘲諷美國人。“美國是唯一一個直接從野蠻進入頹廢、中間沒有經過文明階段的社會。” （America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between。）

17。他也嘲諷他的同胞。“我們愛爾蘭人太詩意以至不能做詩人，我們的國家裡充滿才華橫溢的失敗者，可我們是自希臘人以來最會說空話的民族。” （We Irish are too poetical to be poets； we are a nation of brilliant failures， but we are the greatest talkers since the Greeks。） 那時愛爾蘭還屬於英國。

18。他看不起和他同時代的人，他說：“死亡和庸俗是十九世紀僅有的無法用巧辯逃避的東西。” （Death and vulgarity are the only two facts in the nineteenth century that one cannot explain away。） 他問：“為什麼我會和這樣一些人生活在同一個時代？” （Why was I born with such contemporaries？）

其實王爾德是個挺慘的人，晚年潦倒，死時只有兩位好友在他身邊，僅46歲。死後近一個世紀得不到世人承認，20世紀末英國才給了王爾德樹立雕像的榮譽。

天才總是孤僻的，這些傲嬌的不要不要的話我們現在讀起來會覺得他個性，可愛，可真要有這樣一個人在你身邊，你也會受不了，久之便會厭煩。大概是真的如他所說，“公眾驚人地寬容，他們可以原諒一切，除了天才”吧。
